Dermal Filler Treatment

Dermal fillers are a great way to restore lost volume, enhance facial contours, and achieve a naturally youthful look. Dermal Filler Aftercare:

Immediately after dermal filler injections, the treatment area may be red, tender, or swollen. The redness and tenderness should improve after 48 hours. Swelling is often worse on days 2-3 after injection, improves by day 5, and resolves by 2 weeks.
Avoid any makeup for 24 hours after treatment to reduce the risk of infection.
Drink plenty of water after treatment to stay well hydrated.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, hot drinks, and spicy food for 24 hours.
Avoid medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen for 24 hours, as they are blood-thinning agents and may worsen bruising. If these medications have been advised by your GP, you must check with them before stopping.
Try to avoid touching or rubbing the treated area for at least 24 hours after treatment, as doing so may affect the results.
Do not go swimming or use saunas or steam rooms for at least 24 hours post-treatment, preferably 48 hours.
Avoid excessive sun exposure, extremes of hot/cold, or strenuous exercise until the redness and swelling have settled, around 48 hours.
Avoid any further cosmetic procedures to the treated area for 2 weeks following treatment, including permanent makeup and skin treatments such as facials.
For non-surgical rhinoplasty, you must not wear any glasses for a minimum of 48 hours after treatment, preferably for 5 days, as this could cause migration.
Bruising is common following treatment; it will resolve naturally but may take up to 2 weeks to settle. Regular application of arnica cream may be helpful.
Results can be assessed at 2 weeks when any residual swelling should have settled.
Tenderness at the site afterward is normal. However, severe pain at rest is not—please contact me if this occurs.
